For ______ Size Girls Only?

Yep, that’s right…I went there. I am beyond tired of all of the body shamming that’s being going on. Bigger girls should be able to wear the EXACT same thing as smaller girls do. Why the hell not?

She’s too skinny or she’s too fat, how about you mind your own business. If you have a problem with people being fat…you need to take a good look in the mirror. My size does not affect you and the girl who’s too skinny, guess what that doesn’t affect you either. The fact of the matter is this country is not “one size” and clothes need to be made for all shapes and sizes. There’s Big and Tall stores for men but not for women, because I guess women are only supposed to be petite. That’s absolutely ridiculous, so to everyone who likes to judge girls because of what they wear, It’s time for you to take some personal time and learn to love yourself.

I love myself, I didn’t always love myself though. It took me years to be comfortable in my own skin, but I realized that no matter how much weight I lost I would never be a size two, I’m just not designed that way, but where do we learn about fashion? I get most of my fashion inspiration from television but guess what, there’s really not any women my size on television and if there is they are usually not in the running for best dressed! WHY? We can rock nice clothes too. SPOILER ALERT: I hate jeans, and I feel that women my size are always in jeans, jeans never fit me right, I prefer to wear shorts and dresses. GET OVER IT. Don’t waste your breath making rude comments because it doesn’t hurt my feelings anymore.

I want to thank all of the clothing store who offer clothes in all sizes so that ALL women can feel beautiful, with that being said…

I’m pushing limitations, I’m tired of playing it safe and hiding behind clothes. I’m tired of people telling me to wear black or dark colors because it will make me look thinner, you can’t hide fat, and you shouldn’t have to feel like you have too. With Spring in full force and summer right around the corner I challenge everyone size 00- 28+ to be comfortable in your own skin, it’s the only skin you’ll ever have and don’t let people’s words make you hide behind clothing. Don’t let the clothes wear you, you wear the clothes and you wear the hell out of them and you don’t let anyone tell you anything. If you like it and you feel comfortable in it, the hell with their opinions. Wear that strapless dress even if you have big arms, wear high-waisted shorts even if it makes your hips look big WHO CARES?! I bought a two piece bathing suit for this summer and I don’t means a tankini, I’m gonna rock it and I will not let rude, miserable or small-minded people tear me down. Not anymore!

Make sure you follow me on Instagram to see my Outfits of the day!

So throw on those leggings, that fur vest, the colorful and floral dresses, rompers, tutus and whatever else you want.

  1. I’m a big girl. I’m also tall. Once shirts get to an xl they don’t get longer just wider. Why is that?? I usually have to buy men’s tshirts because they are longer. Love this post!!!!

  2. “you can’t hide fat, and you shouldn’t have to feel like you have too” Girl, yes. I’ve been up and down with my weight for years now. If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that I was beautiful on both sides of a scale and I don’t hide my body any more. Best believe my jiggly thighs are gonna be in some shorty shorts this summer, just like they were last year. That’s one thing I hate about the plus size sections, the shorts are “mom” shorts, they’re too long! But it has gotten better over the years, thank goodness!

  3. Lane Bryant is a store that sells clothing for large sized women. And regardless of fashion trends, many types of clothes do not compliment all body shapes and sizes. Just because you like something does not mean it will look good on you, large or small.

    1. This is true and it applies to every body type, however my post was to encourage everyone to think outside of the box and not feel like there are limitations on what they can wear. I would never try to put myself in an outfit that I felt was inappropriate or too small. Moral of the story, if you like it and its comfortable, then wear it! Thanks for reading!
